The 1st week of Life at the Sea Way Village RV park on the river and wanderings Feb 27th to March 8th

Taking advantage of the peace and quite of an RV park listed as being In Rio Hondo, TX which turns out to be 7 mile in wind fam and farm country. And actually on the edge Arroyo City, TX. and back up to the Arroyo river. Occupied mostly by absentee tenets and elderly folks, and two teen boys. The biggest events concerned to two abandoned dogs and their short stay. And an invitation to a potluck fried chicken diner which I did not attend. Therefore avoiding the declining of offers by little old ladies proffering's of food I am avoiding.

That leave my time from the 27th of Feb. to present with reading, a search of pallets, two visit to Walmart and one to H.E.B. One of the most verity stocked store I think, anywhere.

The rest of my time taken up by reading, sloth, and day trips to the big water, and small town. And a bit of photo action during cloudy damp days.

1st Rio Hondo and Arroyo City and views from the docks. And the Turkey road blockers.

2nd Port Isabel and Padre Island, which after storms and a bunch of years since last visit. Is now almost a clone of the Florida party beaches, And the moneyed condos that you have to walk between after parking a block away. Unless you go to the county park, or county beach access area. Which still require drag your bag to the beach or to fish off of rocks. Still good to get to sand and surf tho. I will return there during the week, when the crowd is not so big.

3rd and 4th. Harlingen, and San Bonito, Tx For a stop at the Marine Corp Academy and the Iwo Jima original monument and museum.  Then on to San Bonito and the Freddy Fender water tower.
Iwo Jima Monument

Freddy Fender Water Tower

Next Up Port Mansfield ==miles up the road north, east, south. A 38 mile drive with a great view of ploughed under fields, wind farms and the chance to drive 55 to 75 on bad road and little else except two small as a 60s Circle K,Country Stores yep it seems that's a brand I actually went there for some reason. A tale of obsession and bad judgment that I won't bore you with. But it's another one of those places with a lot $$$ homes and filled up RV parks of absente population all of which seem to own a boat..
Which come to town to fish, and I imagine the lets go on a fishing excursion boats come back to life soon. There are  actually lots of rentals and a couple of motels to support visitors. And a nice park with piers that will probably also open soon  There is also a large number of deer that hang out in town, and accept hand fed treats. .Blew my calorie count here on a street taco plate at popular restaurant. Don't judge me it was taco Tuesday..I kind of have a yen, when I get back on the road to spend a day or two there.

Why anyone would let this high value Kombi sit and rot is beyond me
