Taking in the views and getting found by Elk in the forest by Cruzville, NM I learned a couple of years back. That the more numbers/letters there are on Forest Road signs. The rougher the road gets. Since I'm driving a street truck with street tires. Three times it was wise to go back to the Whitman decision and take a new route. When I ran out of choices, it was time to go back where I came from. The Silver Pullit ain no jeep.
When your towing on forest service you expect bad paving, and potholes, But not a cavern with a sharp rock at the bottom, on a blind sharp corner. This won was so bad it blew my tire, bent my rim and bounced one side of trailer off the ground. 1,5 hours later, tires changed and on my way to the City Of Rocks.
Had my mind set on a brat, some kraut, some real German Potato salad. Alas it was not to be. Tons of tourist lining the sidewalks, long lines at eatery doors, no place within reasonable walking distance. And no parking for and RV. But lots and lots of no parking signs. And covid be dammed no masks. So I just cruised the town, took pictures, and had my Brat In Luckenburg. Last time I was here parking was good to go. Changes. It happens
A little hard to find, off the main drag, tucked back in from the two lane, & GPS was not being kind One of those tiny places that grows when the party starts, and the dance hall opens. Otherwise Nice little country store and some good eats on the corner lunch stop. There is a decent RV park just up the road.
Out on the two lane this one kind of snuck up on me.

Eldorado streets had no gold
Fort McKavett one of the most preserved and original buildings of an early forts I've seen. Very interesting. If you ask they will furnish you with a golf cart to get around, as it's a big Fort area.
